These include:

  • chest pain
  • anxiety
  • syncope

Only syncope has prognostic value:

  • in ventricular tachycardia syncope implies very fast VT, poor LV function or both. Recurrence of VT while on antiarrhythmic drugs may result in death.
  • in superventricular tachycardia syncope implies very fast heart rate and not poor LV function. Antiarrhythmics or radiofrequency ablation can fully control syncopal episodes.
