Clinical features include:
- altered body composition
- increased abdominal adiposity
- reduced skeletal muscle mass
- reduced bone mineral density
- fatigue, reduced exercise tolerance
- dry, thin skin
- psychological features including
- depression
- anxiety
- emotional lability
- raised plasma cholesterol, low HDL
