Type I (subendothelial deposits):

  • tumours and chronic lymphatic leukaemia
  • infections - hepatitis B, schistosomiasis, post-streptococcal, endocarditis, visceral abscess
  • mixed essential cryoglobulinaemia
  • systemic lupus erythematous
  • alpha1-antitrypsin deficiency
  • shunt nephritis

Type II (intramembranous deposits):

  • partial lipodystrophy
  • candidiasis

Complement deficiency is associated with both types.
