The operative treatment of radial dysplasia aims to align and stabilise the wrist, rebalance the musculotendinous forces around the wrist and reverse the ulnar forearm bow. With optimal treatment, the patient can expect to return to most activities of daily living but with some limitation of wrist extension and ulnar deviation - often only to neutral - and a reduced range of digital total active range of motion.
