tonsillar herniation

The clinical features of tonsillar herniation include:
- neck stiffness and head tilt - from impaction in the foramen magnum
- bradycardia and blood pressure rise:
- Cushing's Law - due to pressure on the brain stem cardiovascular nuclei
- respiratory irregularities - possibly leading to respiratory arrest
- may be some upward cerebellar herniation through the tentorial hiatus
