Bartter's syndrome is characterized by
- hypokalaemia
- hypochloraemia
- there may be hyponatraemia
- alkalosis
- raised urinary sodium, potassium, and chloride
- volume contraction
- raised renin and aldosterone
- normal blood pressure
Plasma levels of bradykinin are raised and there is raised PGE2 excretion.
