Typical infections at stage 3 of HIV infection include:
- tuberculosis
- respiratory tract infections, often caused by:
- Streptococcus pneumoniae
- Haemophilus influenzae
- candidiasis:
- oropharyngeal
- vaginal
- gastrointestinal infections:
- Shigella
- Salmonella
pneumonia caused by Haemophilus influenzae
salmonellosis excluding enteric fevers (S. Typhi and S. Paratyphi)
