  • organisms: C.trachomatis, N. gonorrhoeae, herpes simplex virus
  • clinical features
    • usually pyuria
    • rarely haematuria
    • gradual onset with mild symptoms. Symptoms include vaginal discharge, bleeding (if there is a concomitant cervicitis), and lower abdominal pain. There may be a history of a new sexual parter. On examination cervicitis or vulvovaginal herpetic lesions may be seen.
