further bedside tests

- postural colour change - Buerger's test
- persistent venous guttering
- reactive hyperaemia - inflate a blood pressure cuff around the leg to a pressure of about 250 mm Hg. Keep for about 5 minutes. When the cuff is deflated, the leg should develop a red flush within a few seconds. This response is severely delayed in an ischaemic leg.
- doppler flow studies e.g. ankle-brachial pressure index
