Poland's syndrome

Poland's syndrome is a congenital deformity of the chest wall characterised by:
- absence of pectoralis major
- absence or hypoplasia of pectoralis minor
- absence of costal cartilages
- hypoplasia of breast and subcutaneous tissue
- brachysyndactyly
Various degrees of the malformation may occur ranging from absence of the costosternal portion of pectoralis major to the fully developed syndrome.
It may be corrected surgically.
