dermatosis papulosa nigra

Last reviewed 01/2018

Dermatosis papulosa nigra presents in Afro-Caribbeans as pigmented papules, most commonly, on the face.

They are not melanocytic lesions but rather a type of seborrheic keratosis (1). Histological examination shows irregular acanthosis and hyperkeratosis of the epidermis.

The management is reassurance (1).
