haematological manifestations

The haematological manifestations of rheumatoid arthritis include:
- marrow depression, usually due to folate deficiency
- anaemia of chronic disease
- Coomb's +ve haemolytic anaemia
- hyperviscosity
- thrombocytosis in active disease but may be thrombocytopaenia if marrow suppression by drug treatment
- leukocytosis; may be leukopaenia in Felty's syndrome
