regulation (isocitrate dehydrogenase)

Last reviewed 01/2018

Isocitrate dehydrogenase is non-equilibrium and flux-generating within the tricarboxylic acid cycle. It exists in 2 subtypes which are affected by different sets of regulators:

  • NAD-linked dehydrogenase:
    • stimulated by:
      • increasing concentration of NAD
      • increasing concentration of ADP
      • increasing concentration of calcium
    • inhibited by increasing concentration of NADH
  • NADPH-linked dehydrogenase:
  • þþ stimulated by increasing concentration of NADP

      • inhibited by increasing concentration of NADPH
