- Metoclopramide - first line for nausea & vomiting in obstruction without colic:
- stat dose 10-20mg oral/s.c.
- total dose 30-80mg oral/s.c. over 24 hours
- Dexamethasone may be added as a second line
- stat dose 8-12mg i.v./s.c.
- total dose 8-12mg i.v./s.c. over 24 hours
- Docusate 100-200mg oral or other faecal softener may also be useful
