- laparotomy findings - acute peritoneal inflammation has been found; significant number of male patients with this disease have developed gallbladder disease with/without cholelithiasis but there has been no specific histological lesion identified
- investigation of pleural and joint inflammation has not yielded any specific histological abnormalities
- amyloidosis may affect blood vessels, kidneys, spleen, heart and liver
