clinical features

There may be an acute presentation with possibly:

  • vague right upper quadrant abdominal pain
  • postprandial bloating, nausea and vomiting, and anorexia
  • tender hepatomegaly
  • ascites

Or, the syndrome may present chronically with possibly:

  • hepatomegaly
  • splenomegaly
  • mild jaundice
  • ascites
  • portal hypertension
  • negative hepatojugular reflex
