points in the examination

In examination of these patients it is critical to find any focal disease. Thus, the examination should reveal any:
- skin lesions
- joint/bone problems
- lymphadenopathy
- organomegaly
- tenderness
- chest infection
- cardiac murmurs
- inflamed genitoperineal regions
- confusion, focal signs, meningism
Signs are often absent or subtle.
In addition, a general survey must be made to establish the patient's general constitution: nutritional status, oedema, jaundice, anaemia, etc.
