chronic aortic dissection and driving

Group 1 entitlement:
- driving may continue after satisfactory medical (blood pressure control) or surgical treatment, unless other disqualifying condition
- DVLA need not be notified
Group 2 entitlement:
- re/licensing may be permitted if ALL of the following criteria can be met:
- the maximum transverse diameter of the aorta, including false lumen/thrombosed segment, does not exceed 5.5cm
- there is complete thrombosis of the false lumen
- the BP is well controlled
- note well controlled refers to clinical, NOT DVLA licensing standard.
