Condition Lay explanation Restriction/guidance
Stable Arrhythmia If you get occasional palpitations that do not cause fainting and have recently become more frequent or you have an irregular pulse which is treated and stable

No restriction

Note that these are only guidelines and each airline has its own regulations and medical standards.

If unstable then advice as per relevant condition e.g. heart failure and flying

  • an "uncontrolled cardiac arrhythmia" is an absolute contraindication to flying (2)
