  • pelvic inflammatory disease
  • post-partum infections

Note that Augmentin should rarely be seen as a first-line drug for the treatment of common bacterial infections in general practice. Consult local microbiological guidance regarding the indications for use for Augmentin in your area.

  • may have a place in the treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease, in conjunction with a drug effective against chlamydia
  • often a first-line treatment for severe dental infections, post-partum infections and human and animal bites
