The radiological changes concurring with cervical disc prolapse are:
- lateral x-rays - may reveal narrowing of the disc space. This is not necessarily significant when the cervical lordosis is normal, but obliteration or reversal of the cervical lordosis accompanied by clinical features of a cervical disc prolapse is strongly indicative.
- MRI - may reveal central protrusions and displaced disc material
- myelography - may reveal a filling defect
