- the principle indication for digoxin is permanent/ persistent stable atrial fibrillation with a fast ventricular rate
- optimum resting ventricular rate is generally about 90/minute (1) although
this will depend on the nature of the underlying heart disease - for example
slower rates may be desirable in mitral stenosis
- information relating to the use of atrial fibrillation in chronic atrial fibrillation, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and heart failure are linked
