apical segmental bronchus (left inferior lobe)

The apical or superior segmental bronchus of the left inferior lobe bronchus ramifies to form the bronchial tree of the apical bronchopulmonary segment of the inferior lobe. The apical bronchopulmonary segment is supplied uniquely by the apical segmental bronchus; it forms a discrete functional unit.
