Intermenstrual bleeding (IMB) is defined as bleeding from the vagina at any time in the menstrual cycle other than normal menstruation.
- between 13% and 21% of naturally menstruating women are thought to affected,
- the prevalence may vary significantly with age
- is more frequently seen in perimenopausal women (1)
Treatment is dependent upon cause
