clinical features

Clinical features of hypoplastic left heart syndrome classically appear between the second and sixth day of life and may include:

  • signs of heart failure:
    • dyspnoea
    • hepatomegaly
  • weak or absent peripheral pulses
  • cyanosis
  • cardiomegaly
  • parasternal heave
  • systolic murmur

The presentation may be confused with sepsis at first.
