perianal disease

The perianal manifestations of Crohn's disease:
- most commonly associated with colonic disease
- characteristic lesions, including:
- violaceous fleshy skin tags
- fistulae
- abscesses
- ulceration
- fissures
- constipation and spurious diarrhoea may be the result of anal or rectal stenosis
- overt rectal bleeding; stools may be positive for faecal occult blood
