tetany

Tetany is a syndrome characterised by:
- carpopedal spasm of the hands, and sometimes the feet
- perioral paraesthesia
- neuromuscular hyperexcitability
Occasionally there may be:
- laryngospasm
- psychosis
- generalised convulsions
