Colic may be reduced by antispasmodics such as:

  • hyoscine hydrobromide or butylbromide (Buscopan)
  • peppermint oil
  • mebeverine

Intestinal obstruction, vomiting and colic can be treated with antiemetics.

Gastric distension pain may be helped by:

  • antacids incorporating an antiflatulent, such as Asilone
  • Domperidone 10mg three times daily before meals
