The left ventricle has the following relations:
- anterior and medially:
- interventricular septum
- right ventricle
- posteriorly, medially and slightly superior: left atrium
- superiorly and medially:
- left auricle
- pulmonary trunk
- ascending aorta
- laterally:
- pericardium
- left mediastinal pleura
- cardiac impression on mediastinal surface of left lung
- inferiorly: fibrous pericardium fused with tendinous portion of diaphragm
