The trial evidence for the use of digoxin in heart failure comes from three main sources:
- evidence that withdrawal of digoxin from patients with heart failure results in increased symptoms and increased hospital admissions:

- RADIANCE trial
- evidence that digoxin improves symptoms but does not reduce mortality in heart failure:
