Celecoxib versus diclofenac trial

Last reviewed 01/2018

The trial enrolled 655 patients with adult-onset rheumatoid arthritis and compared the anti-inflammatory efficacy and the gastrointestinal side-effects of celecoxib versus diclofenac.

The trial had a double-blind, double-dummy, randomised, parellel design.

Anti-inflammatory effects were assessed every four weeks for 24 weeks. 430 patients received an upper GI endoscopy to assess the presence of ulceration.
