In vivax malaria complications of a serious manner are rare and seldom fatal. If it is left treated this condition becomes quiescent after about two months.
Vivax strains are usually observed in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Mexico and in Central America (1).
Febrile episodes may occur every third day, and P. vivax is a cause of benign tertian malaria. It is the most common non-falciparum malariae seen in UK (2).
