Yeast are equally common in circumcised and un-circumcised men. However, the latter group is more likely to be symptomatic.

About 50% of males contacts of females with candidiasis harbour the organism.

Nearly 100% of female contacts of males with candidiasis harbour the organism.

Candidiasis in men may be asymptomatic, may cause balanitis or, more rarely, urethritis.

Symptoms may occur almost immediately after intercourse.
