complications

Although complications of sinusitis were common and life threatening during the pre-antibiotic era, their incidence and related mortality have dramatically decreased thanks to more reliable diagnostic methods (CT, MRI), improved surgical techniques and the wide range of available antibiotics.

They are divided classically into orbital, osseous, and endocranial  though rarely some unusual complications can develop (1).
