Wrigley's forceps

Last reviewed 01/2018

These are similar to the Neville Barnes forceps, only smaller. They are used when the head is on the perineum and only a small amount of traction is necessary for delivery. Perineal infiltration is often the only form of analgesia that is necessary.

They have the disadvantage of not having so much pull.

The appropriate use of Wrigley's forceps should be taught by an experienced obstetrician.
