complications

Possible complications include:
- joint stiffness:
- in adults especially, the elbow may be slow in regaining previous mobility
- satisfactory function is usually achieved with the use of physiotherapy and the avoidance of forced manipulation
- osteoarthritis may develop if the articular surfaces of the joint are affected
