Causes in the neonate include:-
- any cause of respiratory distress syndrome
- any cause of cyanotic heart disease
Causes in the infant include:-
- any cause of cyanotic heart disease
- any other sort of respiratory compromise, for example asthma, bronchiolitis etc.
