Possible causes of a breech presentation include:-
- prematurity
- multiple pregnancy
- foetal anomaly e.g. spina bifida, hydrocephalic fetus
- uterine and pelvic anomaly e.g. bicornate uterus, fibroid uterus
- previous breech - 14% recurrence
- polyhydramnios and oligohydramnios
- intrauterine fetal death
- praevia
