The frequenct of relapses is lower during pregnency but may increase 3-6 months after childbirth. Thereafter the relapse rate returns to normal.

  • pregnancy does not increase the risk of progression of disease
  • fertility is not affected by MS
  • breastfeeding is safe unless the person with MS is taking certain disease-modifying treatments
