NSAIDS inhibit cyclo-oxygenase and so reduce the synthesis of prostaglandins.
The result is a reduction in:
- pain
- vasodilatation
- oedema
NSAIDS also:
- inhibit leucocyte migration
- reduce the formation of superoxide radicals
