Causes include:
- fixed drug eruptions eg sulphonamides, barbiturates, aspirin, paracetamol.
- erythema-multiforme including Stevens-Johnson syndrome (eg sulphonamides, NSAIDs)
- photosensitive eruptions eg phenothiazines
- pemphigus eg penicillamine
- pemphigoid eg penicillamine
- toxic epidermal necrolysis eg NSAIDs, sulphonamides, phenytoin
