partial exchange tranfusion

A partial or dilutional exchange transfusion is used in the treatment of severe polycythaemia in neonates.
20 to 30 ml per kilogram of Blood is slowly removed and disguarded, and volume replaced with normal saline or colloid such as 4.5% HAS.
