optic tract
Last reviewed 01/2018
Subsequent to the partial decussation of the optic chiasm, the fibres are arranged such that the information from one visual hemisphere is travelling towards the contralateral side of the brain in the optic tract.
Thus, the optic tract on one side is carrying fibres from the nasal retina, and thus temporal field, of the contralateral eye, and fibres from the temporal retina, thus the nasal field, of the ipsilateral eye.
