Therapy aims to replace intravascular volume:
- whole blood transfusion
- topped up with gelatins, etc.
- normal saline
- Hartmann's
Loss of intravascular fluid does result in a degree of loss from the interstitial fluids; this is replaced with the isotonic fluids.
