lobes (left lung)

Last reviewed 01/2018

The lobes of the left lung include:

  • left superior lobe
  • left inferior lobe

The superior lobe is separated from the inferior lobe by the oblique fissure.

The lingula, part of the left superior lobe, is occasionally considered as a separate lobe despite only rarely being separated and demarcated by a fissure.

Each lobe is further subdivided into bronchopulmonary segments in the submenu.
