Sotalol should not be used in the following circumstances:
- sick sinus syndrome
- second and third degree AV heart block
- long QT interval (congenital or acquired)
- torsade de pointes
- symptomatic sinus bradycardia
- uncontrolled congestive cardiac failure
- cardiogenic shock
- Raynaud's phenomenon
