iridodialysis
Last reviewed 12/2022
The iris is thinnest at its origin from the ciliary body and may easily be torn in a contusion injury. There is hyphaema and distortion of the pupil but vision may be little impaired.
More seriously, the ciliary body may be separated from the sclera. Glaucoma may follow months to years later due to damage to the trabecular meshwork - angle recession.
