Autoimmune haemolytic anaemia may be due to:
- warm reactive IgG autoantibodies
- cold reactive IgM autoantibodies / cold haemagglutin disease
- drug provoked haemolytic anaemia
- complement activating IgG of paroxysmal cold haemoglobinuria
The combination of autoimmune haemolytic anaemia and thrombocytopaenia is called Evan's syndrome.
