exclusion diet in Crohn's disease

In some instances use of the exclusion diet is more effective at achieving acute remission from active Crohn's disease than corticosteroid therapy:
- however patients may relapse shortly after the resumption of a normal diet
dietary measures for inducing remission in Crohn's disease (1)
- enteral nutrition should be considered as an alternative to a conventional
glucocorticosteroid to induce remission for:
- children in whom there is concern about growth or side effects, and
young people in whom there is concern about growth
- children in whom there is concern about growth or side effects, and
young people in whom there is concern about growth
