rheumatoid arthritis of the hand and wrist
Last reviewed 01/2018
Usually, the hand and wrist are more evidently affected by rheumatoid arthritis than other parts of the body.
The pattern of disease is the same as any joint that is affected by this condition, i.e. synovitis, leading on to destruction and erosion of the joint, tendons, muscles, nerves and arteries, and finally deformity.
